Breezemount GP2's to attend Bavaria City Racing - Dublin

It is with great pleasure that Philip Shields has been asked by the organiser's of Bavaria City Racing to share paddock space alongside Vodafone McLaren-Mercedes F1 team with his GP2 cars, where an expected 100,000 strong crowd will fill the streets of Dublin for live action runs of motorsport mayhem!

Bavaria City Racing started out off in Rotterdam 2006, with the heart of the city becoming a playground to serious motorsport machinery.  Since then Bavaria City Racing has taken to the streets of Moscow where Ferrari, McLaren & Team Lotus entertained a 300,000 strong crowd of Motorsport Muscovites.  With Rotterdam being the home event and now boasting a 550,000 home crowd, it's fantastic news that the Bavaria City Racing event is coming to Irish shores, and let's face it...about time too!  For us Irish, racing with an internal combustion engine strapped somewhere on our person has always been a love, whether its bikes, rally or circuit, we're nuts for it.

So it is a joy that Philip and the staff of Breezemount Motorsport to attend this year's Bavaria City racing event in Dublin. Subject to season performance at least one of our GP2's will perform live action with Philip at the controls, fingers crossed our other GP2 may perform live action with a guest driver (TBC).

If you're not familiar to GP2 then read on - GP2 is the feeder series to F1, any serious driver seeking Grand prix stardom will want to have success in the GP2 series.  Drivers get the chance to hone their skills in cars that relate directly to current rule book Formula One cars, shine here and an F1 seat is on the cards.

Breezemounts two GP2 cars come with some interesting history and winning form, both cars originally belonged to top GP2 MAIN SERIES team isport International, chassis #023 being the car Timo Glock contested and won his 2007 GP2 SERIES championship. Karun Chandhok and Adam Carroll have also competed in this very car.  Chassis #030 has fame with Aryton Senna's nephew Bruno and American Scott Speed, added to the fact this chassis also has championship winning kudos with Italian Davide Valsecchi  taking the 2010 GP2 ASIA SERIES title.

Breezemount Motorsport acquired both cars late 2010 from isport, since then a program of refurbishment has been undertaken in house whilst keeping the original isport paint scheme that you see today.
